Athyr graduated from United Medical & Dental Schools of Guy’s & St Thomas’ in 1996. He is one of the few dentists in the UK who has extensive experience in orthodontics, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and occlusion.
He is experienced with traditional types of orthodontic appliances but is especially interested in the more ‘discreet’ options such as Invisalign and lingual braces.
His treatment planning is based on facial profile, and the establishment of a healthy relationship between the teeth, joints and facial muscles.
Technology is an important part of the treatment planning process, with a computerised assessment of the face and underlying skeletal structure, and predictions of facial profile following treatment, in addition to smile assessment.
Dr Al-Killidar diagnoses and treats many patients referred for cosmetic smile makeovers, missing teeth, jaw joint problems, and related disorders including headaches, neck aches, ear symptoms, excess tooth wear, tooth clenching and grinding.
He is also involved in sleep medicine through the use of Mandibular Advancement Appliances that maintain airway latency during sleep and help reduce snoring and sleep apnoea.
He is involved in research, lectures to various groups and his professional memberships include the British Dental Association, British Orthodontic Society, ADAPT, and the British Society for the Study of Craniomandibular Disorders.
This combined with his caring and meticulous approach to treatment has enhanced his reputation amongst his professional colleagues and patients alike.

Domniki is a Specialist Periodontist and Senior Clinical Lecturer in academia with an increasing volume of international lecturing commitments in collaboration with other universities, industry parties and consultancy especially in the Middle East and Europe.
Domniki is engaged in the management of complex periodontal problems including Surgical Periodontal-Regeneration, Mucogingival Implant Surgery. She is the postgraduate director for speciality training in Periodontics at Queen Mary, the University of London along with 18years of a mainly teaching-focused academic career with multi-and cross-disciplinary teaching at both undergraduate-postgraduate levels. She takes the lead in postgraduate training along with day-to-day management of the programme and responsible for the delivery of its strategy, direction, curriculum development- assessment. Her latest achievement is the promotion to Training Programme Director for Periodontics on behalf of Health Education England in order to provide effective clinical leadership in the speciality of Periodontics at a local-national level.
She is involved in research as well as postgraduate-undergraduate education, lecturing and supervising clinicians dealing with periodontal problems and aesthetic dentistry. She is a Member of the Monospecialty (Periodontology)Training Committee and reviews panel for pan London specialists in training along with Licentiate in Dental Surgery (LDS) Examiner for RCSEng and MRD examiner for RCSEd.
Domniki has many years of experience of working both at a hospital and private practice settings, maintaining a multidisciplinary approach to patients care with other specialists along with academic career and various national-international professional activities such as audits, appraisals and job planning.

Statutory Exam (1985)
Dr Hitesh's journey in dentistry began in India, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He moved to England in the summer of 1983 and, after passing the statutory General Dental Council examinations in 1985, joined a busy mixed NHS and private practice in West London. Over nearly ten years there he treated thousands of patients, often more than 20 a day. That pace gave him invaluable experience, but it also made him question whether he was giving his patients the care they truly deserved. It became the turning point of his career, and it shaped his belief that dentistry should focus on the whole patient, not just the presenting problem.
Determined to provide a higher standard of care, he committed himself to continuous learning: an advanced certificate course with Mike Wise, a year-long implant dentistry programme with Ashok Sethi, and the Licentiate in Dental Homeopathy, which further shaped his holistic approach. He has kept investing in postgraduate education ever since, in occlusion, functional dentistry, orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry. Alongside the clinical work he grew increasingly interested in leadership and practice management, achieving the Investors in People standard and completing an 18-month Diploma in Leadership and Management, the only dentist in his cohort to do so.
By the end of 1994 he was ready to bring his vision to life and founded his own practice in Hammersmith, West London. Over the next 24 years he built it into a successful multidisciplinary referral centre, bringing together a periodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon and endodontist alongside a thriving holistic general practice. He built long relationships with families, often across generations, and became known for helping nervous and anxious patients feel at ease.
After more than two decades of ownership he sold the practice to a corporate group and remained as its Clinical Lead, supporting the team and patients through the transition. That chapter has now come to a close.
His approach has always been collaborative. As he often says:
“Jointly agreeing realistic aims at the beginning, so that we can work towards achieving these over an agreed period of time is how I feel I can really make a difference for my patients.”
Today, after more than forty years in dentistry, he is as enthusiastic about the profession as when he began. He is continuing to care for patients in the way he always has: unhurried appointments, honest explanations, prevention ahead of intervention, and decisions reached together. Many of the families he looks after have been with him for decades, and he is glad to be carrying that on.
